Maps and Information
For those unfamiliar with the Star Trek universe, the setting can seem overwhelming. Not to fear! Ten Forward is a relaxed game where no player will be expected to know all the ins and outs of the universe. To make you feel a little more at home, we've provided a few helpful maps, images, and write-ups about the places your characters may be frequenting.

USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) [click to visit the wiki]

The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) is a Federation Galaxy-class explorer that serves as the Federation flagship. It has 42 decks, with the Bridge located on Deck 1 (the top of the saucer). This is where the ship is controlled. The Captain's Ready Room is also on this deck, along with the Observation Lounge.
While aboard the Enterprise, your character has access to the entire ship except for restricted areas meant for crew only (this would include anywhere ship operations are carried out, like the bridge). Most crew quarters are on Deck 8, with civilian living quarters on Deck 32, but several other decks are also used in this capacity. Characters in Ten Forward are typically assigned a roommate, with quarters on Decks 7, 8 and 9. Families typically share quarters, as do ensigns, but private quarters may be acquired.
The main shuttlebay is on Deck 4, supported by several cargo bays on Deck 4 and Deck 18. The Enterprise also has twenty Transporter Rooms on several decks (Transporter Room 1 is on Deck 6). These areas will primarily be where your character stays on board and how your character gets off the ship.
Other areas of the ship include: a sickbay, nursery, and gymnasium on Deck 12; main engineering on Deck 36; holodecks located on Deck 10 and Deck 12 (which can recreate almost any setting, and provide entertainment for passengers); ship's stores on Deck 4; Interrogation/Detention Area on Deck 5 with the brig located on Deck 33, Room 5244; an arboretum on Deck 17, Section 21 Alpha; and much more, including an unfinished multi-purpose deck on Deck 8 (where additional work spaces are set when needed). Ten Forward Lounge [click to visit the wiki]
Ten Forward is the social hub of the Enterprise. It's located in the forward section of Deck Ten, in the saucer section. This gives it a spectacular view into space as the ship travels. There are large windows in a curved wall looking out into space, with chairs and tables scattered along that wall. The dining area is slightly elevated from the bar area, with a small step between the two.
The bar is long and angular and has both syntheholic and alcoholic beverages in stock. There are two replicator terminals that allow production of food. A large artwork behind the bar depicts the Milky Way galaxy. There are waitstaff at both the bar and tables. They wear green.
Quarters [click to visit the wiki]

The guest quarters used in-game by most characters in Ten Forward are similar to junior officers' quarters. VIP quarters are similar to senior officers' quarters. Behind the scenes, the same set was used for senior and junior officers' quarters. The same basic layout of the set was used to create many different quarters within each of these basic sizes, with extra rooms added for larger, more high-status quarters.
Characters will have a roommate as standard procedure for guests brought aboard the Enterprise. Families and married couples may share rooms. Private rooms are available by special request if needed.
To date, guest quarters are assigned to characters on decks 9, 8 and 7. Deck 8 includes senior officer and VIP quarters. Room assignments are listed here.
Memory Alpha has a more detailed overview of ship's quarters if needed; scroll down to the "Galaxy-class" section.
Guest & Junior Officers' Quarters

Guest quarters have a central living area, a bathroom, and two separate bedrooms. Guests on the Enterprise, NCOs, and Ensigns all have a roommate. Officers of Lieutenant Junior Grade and up are allowed single quarters, as are Department Heads and their assistants. Junior officers' and guest quarters are located on the interior of the ship's saucer section, and do not have windows.
The standard configuration for quarters is for 1 or 2 bedrooms opening off the central living area. The bedrooms have either a single-level bed or a bunkbed. In general, junior crew quarters have bunkbeds and guest quarters have single-level beds, but feel free to work with your roommate to decide which you want. Bedrooms include a desk/chair and storage lockers for characters' possessions. A PADD will be provided on each desk, with the Prime Directive highlighted. These are for your characters' use, and can be used to access the ship's computers.
The central living area contains a sofa, table, and a replicator terminal. There is also a holographic viewer. The replicators can produce food, drink, and small items (clothing, instruments, combs and toothbrushes, etc.; nothing bigger than a breadbox).
There is a Jack-and-Jill bathroom in each room. It includes a sonic shower, which uses water and sonic vibrations to clean the body. Sonic showers are very relaxing, and a high-pitched sonic shower produces an effect similar to a cold shower.
Characters are welcome to customize their living quarters. Each room is equipped with basic furnishings when your character moves in. There are different furniture styles, comforts, and decorations possible.
Quarters have a provision for small pets (smaller than a Saint Bernard) for guests and NCOs, as well as for more senior personnel.
VIP & Senior Officers' Quarters

Senior officers' quarters are laid out with a living area, with a bedroom, bathroom, and in some cases other rooms leading off each other in a linear layout. These quarters on the outside of the saucer section. Most of them have vertical windows looking out into space, angled towards the ceiling.
In these quarters, the bedroom generally has a single-level bed. The living area also serves as a work area, with one or more couches, a desk, a replicator terminal, and a holographic viewer.
The captain's and executive officer's quarters have the same layout as senior officers' quarters, but are larger. VIP staterooms are also laid out in a similar way, but those given to characters in-game are shared quarters and have two bedrooms, not one.
The bathroom in senior officers' quarters contains a sonic shower, though the Executive Officer's, VIP and Captain's quarters contain a water shower in addition. VIP quarters have a bath.
There are provisions for small pets (smaller than a Saint Bernard) to be kept in officers' quarters as well as guest and NCO quarters.
More to be added.
